Our Affirmation of Faith
We believe in God the creator of us all, whose desire for
diversity is seen in the rainbow of humanity. With unrelenting
passion God Seeks to be in relationship with all of us.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, who is the embodiment of
God’s redeeming grace; And in the Holy Spirit through whom
that grace continues its restoring work.
We believe in the Church. It is the body of Christ on the earth
today. As ministers of this church, we are all called like Jesus,
to heal, to deliver, to teach, and to serve.
We believe that together we can change the world,
in our time and for all time Amen!
Affirmation Chorus: In This Place
In this place, There’s joy that I can’t explain
In this place, There’s healing for all my pain
There is love unlike I’ve ever known
Everybody here makes me feel at home
As we gather here, I know I’m not alone
I feel God’s presence, Moving in this place..
YOU ARE GOOD
Lord, You are good and Your mercy endureth forever.
Lord, You are good and Your mercy endureth forever.
People from every nation and tongue,
From generation to generation
We worship You! Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
We worship You for who You are
We worship You! Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
We worship You for who You are. You are good!
You are good all the time, all the time You are good
MORE OF YOU JESUS
I’ve touched the hem of your garment
And I have felt the leading of Your hand
But today my eyes look much higher
To see the face of the great I Am. (REPEAT)
More of You, Jesus, More of Your face
More of Your glory in this place. (REPEAT)
I WON’T GO BACK
I’ve been changed, healed, freed, delivered,
I’ve found joy, peace, grace and favor
I’ve been changed, healed, freed, delivered,
I’ve found joy, peace, grace and favor
BRIDGE Right now is the moment, today is the day,
I’ve been changed, I’ve been changed
I have waited for this moment to come,
And I won’t let it pass me by
CHORUS I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me
I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me
All my shame, guilt, sins, forgiven,
No more chains, fear, my past is over
REPEAT BRIDGE THEN CHORUS (4X)
I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me
I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the
good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of
God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
MARK 1:14-15
Jesus went down to Capernaum, a village in Galilee. He was teaching
the people on the Sabbath. They were surprised and impressed—his
teaching was so forthright, so confident, so authoritative, not the
quibbling and quoting they were used to. LUKE 4:31-32
At dawn, Jesus went out to a place where he could be by himself.
The people went to look for him. When they found him, they tried
to keep him from leaving them. But he said, “I must announce the
good news of God’s kingdom to the other towns also. That is why I
was sent.” And he kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea.
LUKE 4:42-44
Jesus said, The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don’t
make anything happen. Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spiritword, and so it is life-making. JOHN 6:63
After this a lot of his disciples left. They no longer wanted to be associated
with him. Then Jesus gave the Twelve their chance: “Do you also want
to leave?” Peter replied, “Master, to whom would we go? You have the
words of real life, eternal life. We’ve already committed ourselves,
confident that you are the Holy One of God.” JOHN 6:66-69
