Our Affirmation of Faith

We believe in God the creator of us all, whose desire for
diversity is seen in the rainbow of humanity. With unrelenting
passion God Seeks to be in relationship with all of us.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, who is the embodiment of
God’s redeeming grace; And in the Holy Spirit through whom
that grace continues its restoring work.
We believe in the Church. It is the body of Christ on the earth
today. As ministers of this church, we are all called like Jesus,
to heal, to deliver, to teach, and to serve.
We believe that together we can change the world,
in our time and for all time Amen!

Affirmation Chorus: In This Place
In this place, There’s joy that I can’t explain
In this place, There’s healing for all my pain
There is love unlike I’ve ever known
Everybody here makes me feel at home
As we gather here, I know I’m not alone
I feel God’s presence, Moving in this place..

BECAUSE OF YOUR LOVE
Yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah As we come into Your Presence
We remember every blessing, That You’ve poured out so freely from above
Lifting gratitude praises for compassion so amazing
Lord, we’ve come to give You thanks for all You’ve done
Chorus: Because of Your love, we’re forgiven,
Because of Your love, our hearts are free, We lift You up with songs of freedom
Forever we’re changed because of Your love…Yeah, yeah(repeat)
Instrumental (Soloist) Thank you Jesus (repeat chorus)
Acapella: Because of Your love, we’re forgiven.
Because of Your love, Our hearts are free, We lift You up with songs of freedom
Forever we’re changed because of Your LOVE

YOU SAY
Verse: I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know
Chorus: You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, oh I believe. What You say of me. I believe
Verse: The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity, o-ooh (chorus)
Verse: Taking all I have and now I’m laying it at Your feet
You have every failure God, and You’ll have every victory, o-ooh (Chorus)
Oh I believe. Yes I believe. What You say of me. Oh I believe

GOD IS HERE
Verse 1 There is a sweet anointing in this sanctuary
There is a stillness in the atmosphere
Come and lay down the burdens you have carried
For in this sanctuary God is here (repeat 2x)
Chorus God is here, God is here
To break the yoke and lift the heavy burden
God is here, God is here
To heal the hopeless heart and bless the broken
Come and lay down the burdens you have carried
For in this sanctuary God is here (repeat chorus)
Acappella Come and lay down the burdens you have carried
For in this sanctuary God is here

BROKEN VESSELS (AMAZING GRACE)
Verse 1: All these pieces, Broken and scattered, In mercy gathered,
Mended and whole, Empty handed, But not forsaken
I’ve been set free, I’ve been set free
Chorus: Amazing grace, How sweet the sound, That saved a one like me,
I once was lost, But now I’m found, Was blind but now I see
Oh I can see you now, Oh I can see the love in Your eyes
Laying yourself down, Raising up the broken to life (pause)
Verse 2: You take our failure. You take our weakness
You set Your treasure, In jars of clay
So take this heart, Lord, I’ll be Your vessel The world to see, Your life in me (Repeat Chorus 3x)

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the
good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the
people. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who
were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed,
those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them. Large crowds from
Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed
him. Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat
down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them.
He said: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds
of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your
reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were
before you. MATTHEW 4:23-25, 5:1-12
Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread
through the whole countryside. He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone
praised him. He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the
Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,
and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the
place where it is written: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed
me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for
the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to
proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” LUKE 4:14-19
