Our Affirmation of Faith

We believe in God the creator of us all, whose desire for
diversity is seen in the rainbow of humanity. With unrelenting
passion God Seeks to be in relationship with all of us.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, who is the embodiment of
God’s redeeming grace; And in the Holy Spirit through whom
that grace continues its restoring work.
We believe in the Church. It is the body of Christ on the earth
today. As ministers of this church, we are all called like Jesus,
to heal, to deliver, to teach, and to serve.
We believe that together we can change the world,
in our time and for all time Amen!

Affirmation Chorus: In This Place
In this place, There’s joy that I can’t explain
In this place, There’s healing for all my pain
There is love unlike I’ve ever known
Everybody here makes me feel at home
As we gather here, I know I’m not alone
I feel God’s presence, Moving in this place..

Verse 2: Free at last, God has welcomed me, God’s grace runs deep
While I was asleep inside. Christ awakened me, Christ awakened me

I’m a child of God, Yes I am. In God’s house of love,
There’s a place for me. I’m a child of God, Yes I am

And I… I’m desperate for you. And I… I’m lost without you. (repeat all)
And I… I’m desperate for you. And I… I’m lost without you.
I’m lost without you. I’m lost without you.
I’m desperate for you. I’m desperate for you..

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
When they finished everything required by God in the Law, they returned
to Galilee and their own town, Nazareth. There the child grew strong
in body and wise in spirit. And the grace of God was on him. Every year
Jesus’ parents traveled to Jerusalem for the Feast of Passover. When he was
twelve years old, they went up as they always did for the Feast. When it
was over and they left for home, the child Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem,
but his parents didn’t know it. Thinking he was somewhere in the company
of pilgrims, they journeyed for a whole day and then began looking for him
among relatives and neighbors. When they didn’t find him, they went back
to Jerusalem looking for him. The next day they found him in the Temple
seated among the teachers, listening to them and asking questions. The
teachers were all quite taken with him, impressed with the sharpness of his
answers. But his parents were not impressed; they were upset and hurt.
His mother said, “Young man, why have you done this to us? Your father
and I have been half out of our minds looking for you.” He said, “Why were
you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I had to be here, dealing with
the things of my Father?” But they had no idea what he was talking about.
So he went back to Nazareth with them, and lived obediently with them.
His mother held these things dearly, deep within herself. And Jesus matured,
growing up in both body and spirit, blessed by both God and people. LUKE 2:39-52
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form
of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself
of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness
of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and
became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
