Our Affirmation of Faith
We believe in God the creator of us all, whose desire for
diversity is seen in the rainbow of humanity. With unrelenting
passion God Seeks to be in relationship with all of us.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, who is the embodiment of
God’s redeeming grace; And in the Holy Spirit through whom
that grace continues its restoring work.
We believe in the Church. It is the body of Christ on the earth
today. As ministers of this church, we are all called like Jesus,
to heal, to deliver, to teach, and to serve.
We believe that together we can change the world,
in our time and for all time Amen!
Affirmation Chorus: In This Place
In this place, There’s joy that I can’t explain
In this place, There’s healing for all my pain
There is love unlike I’ve ever known
Everybody here makes me feel at home
As we gather here, I know I’m not alone
I feel God’s presence, Moving in this place..
YOU ARE GOOD
Lord You are good and Your mercy endureth forever.
Lord You are good and Your mercy endureth forever.
People from every nation and tongue,
From generation to generation
We worship You! Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
We worship You for who You are
We worship You! Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
We worship You for who You are. You are good!
You are good all the time, all the time You are good
THIRSTY
My soul is thirsty, My soul is thirsty for you
My soul is thirsty, My soul is thirsty for you
As the deer is thirsty for the water
So does my soul long for thee
My spirit… Needs… Refreshing
Father, I’m Thirsty, Thirsty For You (repeat all)
Darnell: Let me Drink from the fountain that never shall run dry
From the fountain of everlasting life
For if I drink of your water, I will never thirst again
Let me draw from your living well
My soul is thirsty, My soul is thirsty for you
My soul is thirsty, My soul is thirsty for you
As the deer is thirsty for the water
So does my soul long for thee
My spirit… Needs… Refreshing Father, I’m Thirsty,
Father, I’m Thirsty, Father, I’m Thirsty, Thirsty For You
GOD IS HERE
Verse 1 There is a sweet anointing in this sanctuary
There is a stillness in the atmosphere
Come and lay down the burdens you have carried
For in this sanctuary God is here (repeat 2x)
Chorus God is here, God is here
To break the yoke and lift the heavy burden
God is here, God is here
To heal the hopeless heart and bless the broken
Come and lay down the burdens you have carried
For in this sanctuary God is here (repeat chorus)
Acappella Come and lay down the burdens you have carried
For in this sanctuary God is here
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
“And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great
way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on
his neck and kissed him.” LUKE 15:20
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was
with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood
among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas,
“Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it
into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” JOHN 20:26-27
But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said,
“since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly,
for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done
nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come
into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you
will be with me in paradise.” LUKE 23:40-43
Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world
rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. A woman
giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when
her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a
child is born into the world. JOHN 16:20-21
