Our Affirmation of Faith

We believe in God the creator of us all, whose desire for
diversity is seen in the rainbow of humanity. With unrelenting
passion God Seeks to be in relationship with all of us.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, who is the embodiment of
God’s redeeming grace; And in the Holy Spirit through whom
that grace continues its restoring work.
We believe in the Church. It is the body of Christ on the earth
today. As ministers of this church, we are all called like Jesus,
to heal, to deliver, to teach, and to serve.
We believe that together we can change the world,
in our time and for all time Amen!

Affirmation Chorus: In This Place
In this place, There’s joy that I can’t explain
In this place, There’s healing for all my pain
There is love unlike I’ve ever known
Everybody here makes me feel at home
As we gather here, I know I’m not alone
I feel God’s presence, Moving in this place..

THANK YOU, THANK YOU JESUS
Chorus: Thank you Thank you Jesus, For all you’ve done for me
Thank you Thank you Jesus, You’ve been so good to me (repeat)
My soul looks back in wonder, How you brought me over
I just want to say, Thank You (Repeat All) (Praise Team Sings Verses)
I WON’T GO BACK
I’ve been changed, healed, freed, delivered, I’ve found joy, peace, grace and favor
I’ve been changed, healed, freed, delivered, I’ve found joy, peace, grace and favor
Bridge: Right now is the moment, today is the day,
I’ve been changed, I’ve been changed
I have waited for this moment to come, And I won’t let it pass me by
Chorus: I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me
I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me
All my shame, guilt, sins, forgiven, No more chains, fear, my past is over
REPEAT BRIDGE THEN CHORUS (4X)
I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me
I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me
SHOUT TO THE LORD
My Jesus, my Saviour, Lord there is none like You,
All of my days I want to praise, the wonders of Your mighty love.
My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength,
Let every breath, all that I am, never cease to worship You.
CHORUS: Shout to the Lord, All the earth let us sing
Power and majesty, Praise to the King.
Mountains bow down And the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands.
Forever I’ll love You, Forever I’ll stand.
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; hear me and answer me.
My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught at the voice of the enemy, at the
stares of the wicked; for they bring down suffering upon me and revile me in
their anger. My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death assail me.
Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me. I said, “Oh,
that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. PSALMS 55:1-6
Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and Jesus said to His
disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” And He took Peter, James, and John with Him,
and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My
soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” He went a
little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour
might pass from Him. And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You.
Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”
MARK 14:32-36
… If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I
have more we can list what many might think are impressive credentials. You
know my pedigree: a legitimate birth, circumcised on the eighth day; an Israelite
from the elite tribe of Benjamin; a strict and devout adherent to God’s law; a
fiery defender of the purity of my religion, even to the point of persecuting
the church; a meticulous observer of everything set down in God’s law Book.
The very credentials these people are waving around as something special, I’m
tearing up and throwing out with the trash—along with everything else I used
to take credit for. And why? Because of Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought
were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of
knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had
going for me is insignificant—dog dung. I’ve dumped it all in the trash so that I
could embrace Christ and be embraced by him. I didn’t want some petty, inferior
brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get
the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ, God’s righteousness.
