Our Affirmation of Faith

We believe in God the creator of us all, whose desire for
diversity is seen in the rainbow of humanity. With unrelenting
passion God Seeks to be in relationship with all of us.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, who is the embodiment of
God’s redeeming grace; And in the Holy Spirit through whom
that grace continues its restoring work.
We believe in the Church. It is the body of Christ on the earth
today. As ministers of this church, we are all called like Jesus,
to heal, to deliver, to teach, and to serve.
We believe that together we can change the world,
in our time and for all time Amen!

Affirmation Chorus: In This Place
In this place, There’s joy that I can’t explain
In this place, There’s healing for all my pain
There is love unlike I’ve ever known
Everybody here makes me feel at home
As we gather here, I know I’m not alone
I feel God’s presence, Moving in this place..

WHO YOU SAY I AM
Verse 1: Who am I that the highest One would welcome me
I was lost but God brought me in. Oh God’s love for me, Oh God’s love for me
Chorus 1: Who the Son sets free, Oh is free indeed I’m a child of God, Yes I am
Verse 2: Free at last, God has welcomed me, God’s grace runs deep
While I was asleep inside. Christ awakened me, Christ awakened me
Chorus 2 Who the Son sets free, Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God, Yes I am. In God’s house of love,
There’s a place for me. I’m a child of God, Yes I am
Bridge 1: (I am chosen, not forsaken, I am who You say I am. You are for me,
not against me, I am who You say I am) (repeat ( )) I am who You say I am
Chorus 3 Who the Son sets free, Oh is free indeed. I’m a child of God,
Yes I am. In God’s house of love, There’s a place for me. I’m a
child of God, Yes I am. In God’s house of love, There’s a place
for me, I’m a child of God, Yes I am [Interlude]
Bridge 2: I am chosen, not forsaken, I am who You say I am
You are for me, not against me, I am who You say I am. (repeat ( ) 3x)
For I am who You say I am, Yes, I am who You say I am! (repeat Chorus2)
YOU SAY
Verse: I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know
Chorus: You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing You say I am strong when I think I am weak And You say I am held when I am falling short And when I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours And I believe, oh I believe. What You say of me. I believe
Verse: The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity, o-ooh (chorus)
Verse: Taking all I have and now I’m laying it at Your feet
You have every failure God, and You’ll have every victory, o-ooh (Chorus)
Oh I believe. Yes I believe. What You say of me. Oh I believe
ONCE AND FOR ALL
God I give You all I can today, These scattered ashes that I hid away
I lay it all, at Your feet
From the corners of my deepest shame, The empty places where I’ve worn
Your name. Show me the love I say I believe
Oh Help me to lay it down, Oh Lord I lay it down
Oh let this be where I die, My lord with thee crucified
Be lifted high as my Kingdom’s fall, Once and for all, once and for all
There is victory in my Saviors loss,
And In the crimson flowing from the cross, Pour over me, pour over me yes
Oh let this be where I die, My lord with thee crucified
Be lifted high as my Kingdom’s fall, Once and for all, once and for all
Oh Lord I lay it down, Oh Lord I lay it down
Help me to lay it down, Oh Lord I lay it down
Oh let this be where I die, My Lord with thee crucified
Be lifted high as my Kingdom’s fall,
Once and for all, Once and for all, Once and for all, Once and for all
ACAPELLA Oh let this be where I die, My Lord with thee crucified
Be lifted high as my Kingdom’s fall, Once and for all, Once and for all

Firework-

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting through the wind,
wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards,
one blow from cavin’ in?
Do you ever feel already buried
deep?
Six feet under screams,
but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there’s
still a chance for you?
‘Cause there’s a spark in you
You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July
‘Cause baby, you’re a firework
Come on, show ‘em what your
worth
Make ‘em go, “Oh, oh, oh”
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make ‘em go, “Oh, oh, oh”
You’re gonna leave ‘em fallin downown-own

You don’t have to feel like a waste
of space
You’re original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future
holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow
Maybe the reason why
all the doors are closed
So you could open one
that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will
glow
And when it’s time, you’ll know
You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July
‘Cause baby, you’re a firework
Come on, show ‘em what your
worth
Make ‘em go, “Oh, oh, oh”
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make ‘em go, “Oh, oh, oh”
You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe,
awe, awe
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon,
moon, moon
It’s always been inside of you, you,
you
And now it’s time to let it throughuh-uh
‘Cause baby, you’re a firework
Come on, show ‘em what your
worth
Make ‘em go, “Oh, oh, oh”
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make ‘em go, “Oh, oh, oh”
You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe,
awe, awe
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon,
moon, moon
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon,
moon, moon

Today’s Scripture

Now the tax collectors and sinners were all
gathering around to hear Jesus. But the Pharisees and
the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and
eats with them.” Then Jesus told them this parable…
“There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his
father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his
property between them. Not long after that, the younger son got
together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered
his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was
a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need.
So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who
sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with
the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired
servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will
set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned
against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called
your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and
went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw
him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw
his arms around him and kissed him. The son said to him, ‘Father, I
have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to
be called your son.’ But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring
the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals
on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and
celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was
lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate. Meanwhile, the older
son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music
and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked him what
was going on. ‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father
has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’
The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father
went out and pleaded with him. But he answered his father, ‘Look!
All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your
orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate
with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your
property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for
him!’ ‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything
I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this
brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.
