Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got
together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this
question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with
all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest
commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor
as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two
commandments.” MATTHEW 22:34-40
(Jesus said to them)“Why are you so polite with me, always saying
‘Yes, sir,’ and ‘That’s right, sir,’ but never doing a thing I tell you?
These words I speak to you are not mere additions to your life,
homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are
foundation words, words to build a life on.” LUKE 6:46-47
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me. “ JOHN 14:6
