Sunday Celebration  10/20/2024

WELCOME & INVOCATION

Our Affirmation of Faith

We believe in God the creator of us all, whose desire for
diversity is seen in the rainbow of humanity. With unrelenting
passion God Seeks to be in relationship with all of us.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, who is the embodiment of
God’s redeeming grace; And in the Holy Spirit through whom
that grace continues its restoring work.
We believe in the Church. It is the body of Christ on the earth
today. As ministers of this church, we are all called like Jesus,
to heal, to deliver, to teach, and to serve.
We believe that together we can change the world,
in our time and for all time Amen!

Affirmation Chorus: In This Place
In this place, There’s joy that I can’t explain
In this place, There’s healing for all my pain
There is love unlike I’ve ever known
Everybody here makes me feel at home
As we gather here, I know I’m not alone
I feel God’s presence, Moving in this place..

Your very word spoken to me.
And I… I’m desperate for you. And I… I’m lost without you. (repeat all)
And I… I’m desperate for you. And I… I’m lost without you.
I’m lost without you. I’m lost without you.
I’m desperate for you. I’m desperate for you..

3. I WON’T GO BACK
I’ve been changed, healed, freed, delivered,
I’ve found joy, peace, grace and favor
I’ve been changed, healed, freed, delivered,
I’ve found joy, peace, grace and favor
BRIDGE Right now is the moment, today is the day,
I’ve been changed, I’ve been changed
I have waited for this moment to come,
And I won’t let it pass me by
CHORUS I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me

Before your presence came and changed me
All my shame, guilt, sins, forgiven,
No more chains, fear, my past is over
REPEAT BRIDGE THEN CHORUS (4X)
I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me
I won’t go back, can’t go back to the way it used to be
Before your presence came and changed me

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test  Jesus, “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus replied, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” The man answered: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and Love your neighbor as yourself.” Jesus replied: “You have answered correctly. Do this and you will live.” But the man wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he hell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. so too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed byon the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. Look after him, the man said and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you have have. Which  of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him. Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.” LUKE 10:25-37
