Our Affirmation of Faith

We believe in God the creator of us all, whose desire for
diversity is seen in the rainbow of humanity. With unrelenting
passion God Seeks to be in relationship with all of us.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, who is the embodiment of
God’s redeeming grace; And in the Holy Spirit through whom
that grace continues its restoring work.
We believe in the Church. It is the body of Christ on the earth
today. As ministers of this church, we are all called like Jesus,
to heal, to deliver, to teach, and to serve.
We believe that together we can change the world,
in our time and for all time Amen!

Affirmation Chorus: In This Place
In this place, There’s joy that I can’t explain
In this place, There’s healing for all my pain
There is love unlike I’ve ever known
Everybody here makes me feel at home
As we gather here, I know I’m not alone
I feel God’s presence, Moving in this place..

JOY TO THE WORLD

1.Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
And Heaven and nature sing
And Heaven and nature sing
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing

2.Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL NAME

You were the Word at the beginning.

One With God the Lord Most High
Your hidden glory in creation,

Now revealed in You our Christ
What a beautiful Name it is.

What a beautiful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King
What a beautiful Name it is,

Nothing compares to this
What a beautiful Name it is,

The Name of Jesus
Soloist: You didn’t want heaven without us,

so Jesus, You brought heaven down
My shame was great,

Your love was greater,

What could separate us now
What a wonderful Name it is.

What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King.

What a wonderful Name it is
Nothing compares to this,

What a wonderful Name it is,

the Name of Jesus
What a wonderful Name it is,

The Name of Jesus (pause)
Tammy: How sweet is your name, Lord,

how good You are
Love to sing of your name Lord,

love to sing of who you are?
All unison: Death could not hold You,

the veil tore before You
You silenced the boast, of sin and grave.
The heavens are roaring,

the praise of Your glory
For You are raised to life again
(You have no rival, You have no equal,

Now and forever,

God You reign
Yours is the Kingdom,

Yours is the glory,

Yours is the Name, above all names
What a powerful Name it is.

What a powerful Name it is.
The Name of Jesus Christ my King
What a powerful Name it is, Nothing can stand against
What a powerful Name it is, The Name of Jesus) repeat ()
What a powerful Name it is, The Name of Jesus (repeat line)

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” LUKE 2:8-15
