TODAY’S SERMON: “Reflections from Pastor Tammy”
Our Affirmation of Faith
We believe in God the creator of us all, whose desire for
diversity is seen in the rainbow of humanity. With unrelenting
passion God Seeks to be in relationship with all of us.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, who is the embodiment of
God’s redeeming grace; And in the Holy Spirit through whom
that grace continues its restoring work.
We believe in the Church. It is the body of Christ on the earth
today. As ministers of this church, we are all called like Jesus,
to heal, to deliver, to teach, and to serve.
We believe that together we can change the world,
in our time and for all time Amen!
Affirmation Chorus: In This Place
In this place, There’s joy that I can’t explain
In this place, There’s healing for all my pain
There is love unlike I’ve ever known
Everybody here makes me feel at home
As we gather here, I know I’m not alone
I feel God’s presence, Moving in this place..
BETTER THAN LIFE
Your love is everlasting. It’s an everlasting love.
Your mercy is as new as every rising of the sun.
And Your loving kindness, loving kindness, Is better than life
Your grace is all-sufficient It’s an all-sufficient grace.
Your power and Your glory are forever on display.
And Your loving kindness, loving kindness, Is better than life
Chorus: Oh, it’s better, oh, better than life. Oh, so much better, Jesus, Your loving kindness… Is better than life. of ten thousand. Of ten thousand You are fair.
And nothing in this world could ever measure or compare
To Your loving kindness, loving kindness, Is better than life
All your ways are just, Oh Lord. You’re just in all Your ways.
And I will lift my hands, Oh Lord, in gratitude and praise.
For Your loving kindness, loving kindness, Is better than life. (Repeat Chorus)
Jesus, Your loving kindness, is better than life itself. Better than life itself,
Jesus, Your loving kindness, Is better than life itself, better than life (Chorus)
ABOVE ALL
Above all power, above all kings Above all nature and all created things
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man
You were here before the world began.
Above all kingdom, above all thrones
Above all wonders the world has ever known
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth
There’s no way to measure what you’re worth
Crucified, Laid behind a stone
You lived to die, rejected and alone
Like a rose, trampled on the ground
You took the fall, And thought of me, Above all
WONDERFUL MERCIFUL SAVIOR
Wonderful, merciful Savior, Precious Redeemer and Friend
Who would have thought that a Lamb could rescue our
souls from sin. O could rescue our souls from sin
Counselor, Comforter, Keeper, Spirit we long to embrace
You offer hope when our hearts have hopelessly lost
the way… Oh, we’ve hopelessly lost the way
You are the One that we praise, You are the One we adore
You give the healing and grace our hearts always hunger for
Oh, our hearts always hunger for
Almighty, infinite Father, Faithfully loving Your own
Here in our weakness You find us Falling before Your throne
Oh, we’re falling before Your throne
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
So, my friends, this is something like what has taken place with you.
When Christ died he took that entire rule-dominated way of life
down with him and left it in the tomb, leaving you free to “marry” a
resurrection life and bear “offspring” of faith for God. For as long as
we lived that old way of life, doing whatever we felt we could get away
with, sin was calling most of the shots as the old law code hemmed
us in. And this made us all the more rebellious. In the end, all we had
to show for it was miscarriages and stillbirths. But now that we’re no
longer shackled to that domineering mate of sin, and out from under
all those oppressive regulations and fine print, we’re free to live a new
life in the freedom of God. ROMANS 7:4-6
So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away,
our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary
affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure,
because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for
what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
2 CORINTHIANS 4:16-18
Let us leave behind the elementary teaching about Christ and go forward
to adult understanding. Let us not lay over and over again the foundation
truths—repentance from the deeds which led to death, believing in God,
baptism and laying-on of hands, belief in the life to come and the final
judgment. No, if God allows, let us go on. HEBREWS 6:1-3
